Futurism

Futurism was an artistic and social movement that originated in Italy in the early 20th century. It encompassed all Art forms from painting to sculpture, industrial design to textiles and emphasized speed, technology, youth and violence with objects such as the car, the aeroplane and industrial cityscapes as its main themes. Subject matter was abstracted with repetition and the intersection of forms seen from different angles in order to achieve a sense of movement.
