Collagraphy

Collagraphy is a form of printing that involves gluing materials to a rigid, flat surface to create a design, pattern or form in relief, inking over the raised areas and transferring the image to another surface. Coming from the Greek Kolla meaning glue (coller in French) and graph meaning to draw.

The range of items that can be used is unlimited from string - as we have used here - to natural forms such as dried fish, leaves and driftwood. There have even been collagraphs of Teddy Bears!
