Strathmore

Strathmore have been making Artists’ paper surfaces for over 120 years. Horace Moses opened his paper mill in Massachusetts, US, in 1892 and, shortly afterwards, launched the Strathmore brand after visiting the East of Scotland and being inspired by its beauty – especially of the flowering thistle which was to become the brand’s symbol.

American Artists have long known Strathmore papers to be top quality and some, such as Norman Rockwell, Andrew Wyeth and Contemporary Pencil Artist Heather Rooney, have appeared in testimonial adverts for the brand. Now their excellent reputation is spreading across the globe with perfect paper surfaces readily available for watercolour, charcoal, pastel, pencil or pen and ink.
