Card of the week

Peel offs are often dismissed because of their limited colour but add a permanent marker and those peel offs can be jazzed up to fit with any design. For this card, I coloured in some peel offs (that came free with 25 and 50 packs of Anita's card blanks) to make them look more like bespoke wire-work.
Greetings card using peel offs

Recognise the card blank? Yes, this blank was again taken from a Papermania Handmade card kit. Believe me, you can make these materials really go far with some careful consideration!
A plain piece of card was then cut a little smaller than the blank. To this I stuck some of the lokta paper from the kit. This was just a little strip of the paper as that was all that was going to show and I needed a little extra for the background to the message.
Then I took a couple of scraps of Core Dinations card, cut them to the same width as the plain card and tore a little off to reveal the contrasting inner core. These were glued into place with the strip of lokta between them. This gave the impression of the card being torn away to reveal another layer. For added interest, I sanded the card to give a faded look to the edges. The layers of card and paper were then attached to the blank using foam pads.
The peel offs were coloured in whilst still on their packaging sheet. This means that you can scribble over the part you want and don't need to carefully fill in delicate line work. I used Papermania permanent markers and left to dry for a good while before attempting to lift the peel off from the sheet. All of the above are silver peel offs coloured with either a green or yellow pen.
'Memories' was stuck to a rectangle of lokta and attached to the card with foam pads.
