Card of the week

Looking for some inspiration for card designs for men? If you can't find just the right ready-made embellishment, decoupage sheet or accessory, simple shapes cut from interesting card and paper make a great alternative.

Cut out words

Best dad cup

Dad the dude

For card 1, I took a blue card blank from the Pollen range and used two sheets of Core Dinations paper as the background. I then cut out the word 'DAD' from some lovely summer stripey card from the Garden Party cardstock range. The word is held in place by three heart-shaped brads from Papermania.
Card 2 uses an Anita's A5 cream card blank and a sheet of classic spotty paper from the DCWV Garden Party cardstock collection. The cup itself is cut from Core Dinations as are the sections either side of it. I have scraped away the surface in places to suggest reflections. This scraping away at the surface creates an effect that looks like pastel drawing. To finish, I have added some ribbon from a Papermania ribbon pack.
The Garden Party Stack was raided again for the third card for the background, the shirt and the tie. An Anita's accent sticker and cream A6 card blank are the the only other items used. A piece of the 'shirt' paper is cut to shape and placed behind the sticker to make it stand out from the background paper and help to tie it all together.
